OUR SCHOOL: A Learning Environment that Nurtures Curious, and Creative Thinkers As parents and educators, we know how important and foundational the first years of schooling are in a child's educational development. The way a student is first introduced to learning is what will create the feelings and attitude that will be carried with him and her throughout continued schooling. Therefore, at Maimonides Hebrew Day School, we ensure that each child is treated as an individual, a jewel with many facets, that will shine forth and illuminate, when given the right surroundings and approach. Just as no two children look alike, no two children learn exactly alike. Because of this, our skilled and trained teachers use a variety of educational techniques and approaches to bring out he best in each student. Some children can comprehend material when applied through stories, others through art, drama, or music. Some children are hands-on and physical, others prefer looking at pictures or verbally describing what they understand. Our goal is to unveil and reveal the potential in each child, and apply those techniques throughout the different courses of study, including play time, and all other activities. We foster the child's inner aspirations, viewing him or her as a complete being, with endless potential. All of the classes in our school follow the above philosophy, however we offer two distinct programs of learning at our school: Jewish Studies In this program, children are enveloped in a Jewish environment in which Torah values, moral, tradition and heritage will permeate every aspect of the learning and atmosphere. In addition to receiving a top-quality general education, children learn Hebrew and Judaic studies, strengthening his/her connection and understanding of what it means to be a Jew. With our focus of loving each and every individual, regardless of affiliation, background or observance, we foster in our children respect, patience, and openness. After three successful years, we along with our students, are continuing to grow and expand as we launch two new classes, a kindergarten and first/second grade. Special Education
In this program, we strive to teach students
who require additional learning support
in a truly alternative educational environment that acknowledges
their needs and celebrates their strengths. With a minimum ratio of 1:2,
students are taught with a true individualized education plan, and are
done so with functional, engaging, and real-life methods. We
currently have 2 special education jobs available.
